erasers and platitudes

i admit that i have a long way to go in caring for this beautiful
part of God's earth, but as i drove past a hip boutique, i felt
steam hissing out of my ears.

"man should not make marks in the sand that the wind cannot
erase."

this is clearly an ecological statement meant to teach me a deep
lesson  about my 'green' footprint, but my first thought was,
"well that looks ugly.   i wish the wind could erase it."

the wind would have a hard time blowing over this tree that WE planted.

second thought:  "man should try to express his deepest thoughts
in the positive."

my final thought:  "a man who is living in a grass hut in the jungle
has more of a  right to say that to me.  his own footprint can
easily be erased by the wind.  BUT,  the owner of a glass fronted,
brick sided store does not."

only one of our famous tornadoes could erase that footprint.

can you tell i skipped breakfast?  my mom told hans, "my only
advice is that you make sure she eats enough and gets lots of
sleep, or she turns into a bear."

grrrr,
lea

"the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of
eden to work it and take care of it."  genesis 2:15

He he ... that was quite a statement. So many slogans are really quite silly.

after last night's storm, I'm just happy to see your tree still standing! It got a little strange for awhile. The word 'tornado' makes me cringe these days. It's amazing the power of nature, but all is under His control, even me when I cower in our 'safe place'! :)

now I see why they sneak in with their cans of spray paint... maybe someone will do that with this store!

Glad you posted this morning after last night, I am sure a bit of the weather has something to do with it.
Glad you are safe.

If you've not read my post, I'm so Green, it will tickle you if not upset you. This whole green thing is bonkers; after all, it wasn't invented with this generation.

Amen and thank you! About the food, too! :)

LOL - enjoyed your post. Especially since I'm sitting by the TV watching the weather report of nasty storms, winds, and tornados. :) Thanks for the encouraging Bible verses too :)

Those horrible tournedos we are seeing on the news are in your area! It is certainly a year of disasters ... I pray you all remain safe and the wild weather passes soon.

Ha! Your post made me smile. Sometimes we forget that we were made for God and the earth was made for man. I love nature too ...wonder why that "store owner" doesn't move out of the man made structure and just push a cart down the road ...or a tent or something? Too much "footprint" left by a concrete/glass structure!
Hope you had a good breakfast!

Good post as always...and praying for all those in OK, Alabama, Missouri...we are still picking up limbs here and roofs, but safe...now I need my Dr Pepper...and then make sure it goes in the recycling bin.
Blessings to you!

LOL! This is priceless. I take such advice very selectively and in small doses.

So many things are easily erased by the wind!! Your beautiful tree will not be erased. The breath of God blows gently upon our spirit and lets us know that we are at peace with Him and with ourselves.
