ouch! watch what you say to me!!

dear emily,

i approached target, and a wave of grief washed over me.  as i began
sinking under it,  i heard myself say,

"silly woman, what in the world is wrong with you?"

"well, i always come to target with the girls, and i just miss them so
much!"

"uh huh, and do you remember why you are here?"  i can be so
demanding.

"just picking up some things to take to hailey."  i muttered.

"i'm sorry, what did you say?"

"picking up some things to take to hailey, sir!"

"exactly.  you should be rejoicing.  now stop feeling sorry for yourself."

gulp.

so i feasted on one of target's delicious all beef hot dogs, barely able to
finish it and remembered wishing i could have another just six weeks
ago.  another reason to rejoice.  :)

it made me think about how important it is to encourage my self-talk
every now and then.  "there is a time to weep but also a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance." (ecclesiastes 3:4)  my emotions
get so mixed up that i have to speak to them, too.

yikes!  i'm starting to sound schizophrenic.

i'm going to take a blog break, but it would thrill hailey, who blogs
about her brazilian experiences, if you hopped over there to say,
"hello! or ciao!" in portuguese.   well, really it would just thrill me.

ciao,
lea

Enjoy your break from blogging, Lea. Blogging breaks can be such times of refreshing. Course, I'm wondering if you're heading off to Colorado or perhaps Brazil...

Enjoy your blog break! Totally blessings...I had to nod my head reading...God was speaking to me yesterday on my self-talk, on some bad habits of thoughts I have allowed and Him wanting to wash them away.

Have a refreshing, awesome time!

I will be checking your daughter's blog...been praying for her. My daughter is looking into heading to Africa...my second one to go there.

Hang in there and take a break, rest, sleep, cry, read, do what ever it is that makes you rest. Even Jesus, had to get away to be alone with His Father. I got up this morning first thing and made my porch that is just off my office all nice so I could go and meet my Father as the sun comes up. It helped me so much in my mind.

We will love you when you get back and we love you now.

Still always,you are
Lovely Lea :)
just a given out one.

so many of you actually visited hailey,
and i am soooooo grateful!

Janettessage.blogspot.com said...

I sent her link to my daughter...they sound soooooooooooo much alike...mine is 19. I don't know what I will do if God calls her elsewhere, or what her little brother will do, but it is the word I have had on her life since she was young...so I guess I need to prepare my heart. Mine sings at the top of her lungs...she leads praise and worship for the jr high..so I can see her singing like your daughter was mentioning.
Have an awesome trip...my lady, you are the blessing! Enjoy!!! My prayers go with you!!!!

Hope you find your break-away to be refreshing. As for lamenting over shopping at Target alone, is there a Wal-Mart near-by that could meet your needs for awhile??? You know sometimes a change of scenery does wonders for the soul!

I'll miss you, Lea! Listen to yourself talk...more importantly, hear Him. "Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord...I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life...then you will know that I am the Lord." (Ezekiel 37:4ff)

Oh! I do understand! I wish that we didnt live this 12 hour drive away from our younger two in Kentucky and then the additional 2 hours more to our older daughter and her hubby!

I am sooooo ready to move! I look forward to when we can be "down the road" (and not 12 hours!) or at least in the same state....so we can meet for lunch or have them over for dinner and just to visit! This Thanksgiving and Christmas, my work schedule is packed, and our older daughter and our son in law also have work schedules that do not have much time off, so not sure how that will work. OOps! sorry for all that! I just meant to say...I understand :o)

I will take a peek at your daughter's blog.

Blessings & Aloha!
After returning from our visit with family, it was straight to work, but I had yesterday and today off from work, so I hope to get caught up on some blog reading. I did draw names and I just wanted to let you know-in appreciation to those that left comments but were not drawn, I am also offering 10% off of one order…I would have liked to do more free or 20% off, but especially with it this close to Christmas, I could not manage to get them done in time..but want to be sure that no one was left out. Please leave a comment to let me know if you are interested.

i heard a preacher once say "preach to yourself". talk God's Word to self as though your sitting in church hearing it from a preacher. Just keep preaching to yourself sister and you'll be rejoicin' way more than despairin'. dem' folks in target might be thinkin' you is looney but that's just fine now; it is....

Blog because you want to not because you impose it upon yourself. Life is full of "have to's", blogging isn't one of them unless you're needing it to make money.

Dearest Lea,
Oh you must be SOOOOO EXCITED! I know how I miss MY babies, and when I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, I am such a child at heart...counting sleeps before I see them. Have the very BEST Thanksgiving sweet friend and know that you will be missed!
I have a "wee" little something that I would love to send you. Is there a mailing address that I might use to get it to you?
If you could maybe Email me this, I could have a little welcome home goody waiting for you...:)

Lea, I'm regretting not getting back to your blog before now. I talk to myself too...like the Psalmist did (Ps 42:5 "Why are you cast down, oh my soul?) I so miss all my missionary kids. As moms, the separation is our sacrifice, but aren't you glad we are in it together with our kids...for His glory! I know your heart is with Hailey in Brazil. I'm hopping over to visit her blog. Enjoy your break!
