dear emily,
a few months ago i sent a text to my dear friend, annie, and
her reply was, "@#XTL&!" i called her and said, "oh sorry,
i didn't know that you didn't text!"
she responded, "i'm getting a lot better!" :)
we walk and pray together about once a week, and i am
always after her to recite the copious amount of scripture
she memorizes. recently, annie mentioned that she sends a
daily scripture to her precious daughter who lives far away.
i asked her if she could send it to me, too. when she
paused a second, i wondered if she knew about the email
'Cc column', but then she smiled sweetly and said, "sure!"
imagine my surprise the next day to receive a text of
scripture that filled my screen four times! my thumbs hurt
to think about it... and when had she learned to text?
"well," she said, "r. is working so hard and might not
check her computer but she always checks her phone."
i put that in the supermom category!
love,
lea

I hate texting, that's the only reason I liked it when work gave me a Blackberry (not for the always on email). Now I am freelancing again and back to texting on a regular phone ... my phone is a bit like yours, never near me.
I love your posts, just don't get here so often because your link still isn't updating and I forget to click through.
I was just thinking about this ... when I left home as a tender teen my Mum wrote to me every week ... long distance phone calls were too expensive in those days. Her letters were just as if she was in the room talking, full of home town chit-chat, love and admonishments. I didn't like it when she quoted scripture ... I wonder if your friend's daughter appeciates her effort.
Sweet post. I used to work in software, so you'd think I'd know all about the latest and greatest technologies. Blackberry who? Bluetooth what? Texting huh? Facebook forgetaboutit. I'm retired now, and I'm happy just keeping things as simple as possible! Your sweet friend is waaaay ahead of me. :)
Wishing you have a happy day,
Zuzu
Thank you so much for commenting on my post of yesterday. I'm happy to meet you!
And thank you so much for not making us do Word Verification here! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa we who do not make our readers do that thing. :-)
That was sweet, the Word is more powerful than a two-edged sword. The best kind of encouragement. I'll try it. Heb.4:12
