the intruder

dear emily,

it's been a while since i told you a good 'max' story, and there is no
shortage of them.   he is our 24 year old middle child, the one i used to
tell, "if you weren't so cute, i would kill you!"

when he was seven we were visiting his grandparents at a sleepy resort
of octagenarians.   besides the atlantic ocean, every corner was as safe
as sunday school.   one afternoon, i sent my little dennis the menace up
to our room on the third floor (306) to grab some beach towels while i
waited in the lobby with his two little sisters.

after longer than i would have imagined, he returned white as a sheet.
apparently he had accidentally gone to the second floor (206), barging
into the wrong room.   instead of our mountain of swimsuits and tennis
shoes,  he ran into two elderly ladies.

never doubting himself, he asked, "what are you guys doing in my
room . . . in your slips?"

What a very cute story! Oh yes these things happen..I have gotten into someone else's car once...lucky they were no where to be seen. Same car as mine only I was wondering why there was a baby seat in the back...oh brother..i am losing it in my old age. xoxox HUGS and happy Autumn to you my friend.

I once borrowed my friend's red car for the day. I didn't really know the registration number, just that it was red and small.

Needless, to say, I tried to 'break into' someone else's car at the end of the day. Lucky for me, I spotted the right one (two spaces up) before it was too late.

Soooooo precious! I'll bet it made their day :)

(Makes me chuckle about a similar story that sprang to mind--too long to recount here.)

Oh my goodness. Funny! My brother and I were racing to get to our motel door first and opened the wrong one. I can still see the lady sitting up in bed, holding the covers up around her. Why don't people lock their doors?

It could have been worse. They could have been naked. :)

This is a good addition to your letters.

Love the photo of the little old ladies. I hope I'll have that joy when I'm their ages.
