confusing signs

dear emily,

hailey was six or seven and practicing her reading skills on the billboards
as we drove by.  it was a tad bit annoying to her four older siblings.

"mom!   she's driving us crazy!  make her stop!"

but then we drove past a 'gentlemen's club', and it was hailey's turn to be
outraged.

"uh!!!  thanks a lot, don't let us girls in!"  :)

love,
lea

"meaningless!  meaningless!"  says the teacher.  "utterly meaningless!
everything is meaningless."   ecclesiastes 1:2

LOL No I take that back, the picture of the car lashes...and I won't be able to open my eyes. LOL

I used to do that same thing when I was a kid. Reading billboards. I was enamored by the clever ones, like "Orange lovers - have a Crush on us!"

When you're on a long and lonely journey, there's nothing like a good advertisement to cheer you up! Well, unless it's a Gentlemen's club ad. That should not be allowed, tsk tsk...

I'm glad they were not reading the signs heading south into Myrtle Beach, SC. The so-called "gentlemen" signs there would provide quite an education; the kind that would make the Hooters restaurant signs seem tame.

Smart kids you have! :)

LOL! How cute! Remember how they used to sound EVERYTHING out? Some days(PMS) it was sheer torture!

I thought those days were long gone until I heard of a nearby golf club that doesn't let women in. Preposterous!

Lea, re: our discussion, do you have an e-reading device? PDF, Kindle, do you read books on your laptop?

The e-version of my inspirational memoir is out. You can also read the first 3 chapters for free. I don't want to leave a link on your blog, but if you drop by my confidence blog the link is there.

Thank you xxx

No matter how often they say, "the times are a'changin'", it seems like women keep sliding farther into being objects of the past.

It saddens me to see this.

Gloria Steinem would NOT be amused.
