The last time my feet were in ski boots I was a new mom at age 23!!! So you go girl! Today one of those babies is 23!!
Oh January..thanks for the comment...it was a precious and sweet month, one I will hold dear to my heart for years.
We ran to the windows last night to see the falling snow down here in Texas...it was gone by morning.
Have a continued joyous winter.
My kids are all training for marathons...I keep telling them I am not going to do that!!!! LOL
Well, you are brutally honest with yourself and that's a good thing! I wouldn't stress over the ski boots...I have a hard time getting my everyday boots on {my poor back!}.
Have a great week! :)
XO,
Jane
I admire your honesty but am not sure you are being completely truthful here. I find it hard to believe you have trouble putting others needs before your own or that you don't pray fervently. You are a mother and wife which means you are always putting others needs before you own and holding those same precious ones up in prayer, fervent prayers.
Miss you, Lea. Hope you and yours are well. Have a lovely Valentine's Day tomorrow.
Hugs!
I have not ever had my foot in a ski boot! I guess that happens when you don't live where it snows, or have a desire to drive in it.
I would always stop, if I was able, to watch those snowflakes fall though...:)
Happy Valentine's Day to you!
xoxo...Gloria
I find it very difficult not to watch the snowfall. I have never worn a ski boot. And always compare myself to others who I think are more accomplished in some way.
Love this list … I find most of them difficult as well!
hi sweet gal! so good to catch up on you a bit. : )
i can relate to so many... especially 1,2,5. thank God for grace.
Oh I can relate to the 50+ body! And I can't blow my nose with my glasses on either! Cute post!
You are so cute, I don't know if at 53 I even care about putting my foot in a ski boot. ditto on the marathons. You are so cute and keep staring out the window at snowflakes, summer will be here too soon.
Just be who you are Lea, that is enough. :)
Ditto. That's not entirely true...I can eat most of my vegetables.
I have found myself fantasizing about running in recent months -- perhaps the result of warm winter -- but deep down I know there's not a runner inside of me. My mom used to compare herself to a slightly younger friend who could run circles around her...literally. Now the friend is in a nursing home and needs help getting around while Mom is still wearing stiletto heels and I suspect the friend is comparing herself with Mom. That comparison thing is a lifelong challenge.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Margaret
The sky is still the limit. That and ski boots!
Oh someone just like me...except for the ski boot part. I've never even tried.
I have never put either of my feet in a ski boot, and oh how I'd love to look at snow out of my window!! Funny you can't blow your nose with your glasses on can you? I sure can't anyway. I enjoyed this! HUGS
No snow around here but I got push bike for Christmas. It took less than two weeks for me to fall off, sprain my ankle and spend 6 weeks thus far in recuperation. Ageing bodies don't bounce. Good luck with the skiing!
I've never had my feet in ski boots, so you already have one up on me. As for running marathons, forget about it!
My list would be so long it would take me a week to make one. :-)
Love it! I am so glad that the scripture says that He is able to keep us from falling. I sure can't keep myself from it! Carla
Hi Lea,
Just a thought, but if it's hard to get your foot into a ski boot (from a former ski instructor...) just try a snowboard boot instead. Much easier to get in and out of. Once you have it on though, entirely up to you. But the kids will think you rock... Let me suggest a helmet though. And wrist guards. And maybe a pillow for your bum. Snowboarding is hard on your bum... But after you take the half-pipe once or twice, you can cross #7 off your list too. Snowboarding definitely counts as a new trick. And it can also help with #5 while you are learning. And then just forget #8, won't need it with all colories you burned! Can't really help with those veggies though. Darned veggies!
Hope you are enjoying a wonderful Valentine's Day with loved ones.
Kate
Lea, you always leave me wanting more...like maybe an afternoon of skiing together so I might glean more wisdom. Oh, to be Emily.
how many times can i say
i adore you!
before it gets old?
kate!
ha ha! i can just see me on a half pipe!
Such a good list. Being honest with one's self takes a lot of courage. You are encouraging to me by doing so. I, too, have a hard time praying ... fervently. It's something I really want to fix. Running a marathon? Not so much. =)
Have a good weekend.
Don't despair Lea! Your list is not very long! I would venture to guess we all struggle with 2 and 5, not to mention a whole bunch that didn't make your list.:)
PS Ditch the marathon runnin' friend and find one that loves to eat cupcakes! LOL!
Hey, I'm with you. I'd rather watch the snow falling any day, over running a marathon. But you don't get much snow in sunny CA, do you?
Hi Lee,
So many similar things are hard for me too. The ski boots, I haven't going skilling since I was in my thirties.
Karen
Love, love, love this! :) Cheri
I love to ski but cannot due to a back injury. But I can so remember being at the top of a black diamond hill and frozen in fear...a true test to the spirit.
LOL about blowing your nose with your glasses on. They steam up, right?
Love the verse. God is good and loves us so much.
Have a beautiful day,
B.
Wishing you a wonderful week!
Kate
Oh you are so sweet...it is hard not to compare ourselves with others...I am still learning that one. Hugs to you dear one...hope you are well
Hi Lea!
Oh I enjoyed this post and the last one too about the Merry Maids "Please don't leave me here by myself" LOL
I'm smiling!
I'm visiting my father, helping him around the house etc... {and of course getting a little time for myself as I visit some wonderful blog friends!}
Your list rings true for me too!
{except for the ski boots ~ I'm discovering that this winter with hardly any snow is perfect for me!}
Wishing you much JOY,
always,
Maria
:) And I would add to #6 -- hugging my husband with my glasses on.
Just this morning, I had to restrain myself from continuing a conversation with a dear friend who has overachiever children. I had to make myself NOT compare my kids to hers; so I let her talk, talk, talk. Eventually, someone in our walking group changed the subject. This thought came to me when you mentioned your marathon running friend. Good scripture.
