out, out, #@^%! spot!

dear emily,

you are much too young to have to deal with this minor irritation,
but i am plagued by a few pesky brown spots on my cheeks.  it
is my own fault, of course, for basking in the sun as a foolish
young sun worshipper.

i can assure you that all the commercials extolling their miraculous
potions are fictitious.  they don't work.  in the past, i have resorted
to camouflage, which doesn't really work either.  sigh.

then it dawned on me that the spots were located exactly where i
would like to have sculpted cheekbones.  so i applied brown
shading on top of the spots just under my cheekbones and voila'!

hee hee!

even though my spots are here to stay, they serve a purpose by
reminding me of the blemishes on my heart.   i try to hide those,
too, but it's far better to expose them.  "Lord,  i said a terrible
thing today . . . "

love,
lea

I know what you mean. I like to think of blemishes and wrinkles as a sign that I've lived long enough to have them. So many people die young.

Thinking of blemishes in this way makes me feel a lot better about them.
I pray that one day I'll live long enough to see wrinkles on the back of my hands, with skin so old, people will take one look and know I've lived a full life!

Boy, can I relate. I have developed a few spots under one eye that makes me look like I got hit if I don't cover it with makeup.

As for the blemishes of the heart, most people don't see those but God does and I'm thankful that he continues to work on getting rid of them.

I read that apple cider vinegar works, but then it also works for a thousand others things too. If you can afford it I understand the pulse lasers do the job.
You always make me smile no matter what you write about.
I'm so grateful that He makes us spotless and white as snow.

I wonder if brown will my cheek bones emerge from wrinkles and spots together.
I will give it a try.

That God's white magic works on my spotted soul is far more wonderful, almost unbelievable.
It's true though. My life is founded on that.

It makes grace all the more precious, doesn't it? I have many a "wrinkle" that reminds me of the old ways of yesteryear. Thank God He makes all things new!

Great idea! If you can't hide it, highlight it.

no, really... I just used my bronzer, the tanner one I use for summer, only on the cheekbone where there is a brown spot. The spot went away and the cheekbones are highlighted!! Good grief! Maybe this is a real genius idea!!

Jesus loves us, blemishes and all, thank goodness. As Brennan Manning wrote "Abba is quite fond of you." For some reason that quote makes me smile.

This post made me smile. I also have those spots, not to mention a gazillion freckles too! :)

I'm thankful the Lord loves us, imperfections and all.

Good morning! Oh I enjoyed this...I don't have brown spots (yet) on my face, but I do have several on my hands! What is that?? I was thinking that the other day as I was sewing and my hands were right there in front of my face. WHERE did this old ladies hands come from?? haha...I love your analogy though. Sooo true. Praise God we have Him to cover those. Have a wonderful day! HUGS

Oh you found something that works...mine aren't on my face, but all over my arms. A little 5 year old at Awanas where I volunteer rubbed my arm the other day saying, "what are these, I don't have them...look I don't have spots"

When I look down I see my grandmother's arms...and I am not a grandmother yet..but she had at least 4 of us grandchildren by my age

I do need to be more concerned about the spots on my heart and allow the watering of the Holy Spirit to cover and remove them...thanks for that spiritual lesson

No brown spots here, but plenty of other 'time' marks. Everything seems to be heading south...

LOL! I can totally relate! Right now I am using a product for wrinkles and acne. Who knew there was such a product? Seems as though menopause is puberty in reverse, hence the acne and at 53 you know there are a few wrinkles to be had. Sigh. If it ain't one thing it's two.:)

I have some of those brown spots too...ughh...:) Oh well, good thing the Lord looks at the heart instead of our outer appearance. I pray my heart looks good to Him. I am so glad He loves me even when my heart isn't so pretty. He patiently and lovingly keeps guiding us to increase in beauty on the inside...:)

Have a lovely day...and your heart is beautiful! May the Good Lord bless you for what you write here to us.

Blessings for a Happy Thanksgiving to you!

xoxo...Gloria

WOW! What a great way to look at those spots. I will remember that! When I get upset with them on my face it will remind me to look deep at my heart!
