just do it.

dear emily,

i'm preaching to the choir here, because you are the 'fittest' person i
know, but you will look up someday and be 20 years older.    that's
when you will thank yourself for keeping your body in shape.

speaking of shape, my trainer (and great friend) was bemoaning how
many women our age have just let themselves evolve into a 'soft' pear
or apple shape.   fruit should only be smooshy in a pie.

it is harder to work out now, i admit.   sometimes my hip or back
aches, but that's no excuse.    there is always something i can do to
get my heart rate up and my muscles working.

someday, i want to be the grandma who throws a football to her
grandson and plays on the floor with her granddaughter.    how can i
do that if i don't strengthen my arms and legs now?

i will sit in the rocking chair with my great-grandbabies.

love,
lea

keep after it! I'm in the 'catch up quick while you still can' mode... it doesn't get any easier, but it's still worth it! Here's to fit and firm!!

thanks for the nudge...my two year old grandson's energy is reminding me I have got to stay in shape...now for the weather to stay warm, so I can get out and walk

You are inspiring! I go in fits and starts with exercise and I've never come up with a valid excuse for not keeping fit or watching my diet. When you put it in the perspective of wanting to be able to have all that fun with the kiddos, that's hard to ignore!! Thanks, my friend!

XO,
Jane

Oh Lea, it is important to keep out "temples" as fit as possible! At now 55, I am grateful for the dance training and other activities that I have enjoyed and still do. But walking is the best thing we can all do as we get older and KEEP MOVING! You can do it! My husband and I walk daily and it really does make a difference!

PLEASE DO come and crash the France party! I would love to see you. Come by on May 17 to link to the fun! Anita

I enjoy exercise as long as it doesn't really feel like exercise. Walking, dancing and stretching are what I like to do.

Oh dear, I blush to admit to being a ripe pear.

LOL about "Fruit should only be smooshy in a pie." I'm battling some smooshy apple pie here and enjoyed the cheerleading about getting rid of the smoosh AND the apple.

You are so right about realizing that one day you're going to be 20 years older.

As always you are most inspiring dear Lea.
I guess I'm a little smooshy but I'm definitely working on it.
Have a great Sunday!
