one of our evangelist friends likes to tell a story about the dearest little,
old lady in his congregation. she is his example of kindness, goodness, and
generosity.

he said to her, "aunt minnie, you never say an unkind thing about anyone.
why, i bet you even have something nice to say about the devil."
she smiled fondly at the young evangelist and replied, "well, honey, he sure
does try hard."

Haha! I love this. What a sweet woman. I strive to be like that. :)
Not only was Aunt Minnie kind, she was right on the money! He sure does try hard, and far too often, he wins, but only for the moment in terms of eternity. Love your Aunt Minnie picture. :)
Love this, Lea. I do wish the old liar would stop trying so hard. Guess he still doesn't realize he loses in the end.
ha... love this
My pastor from childhood complimented him also--said he was the only one minding his business--
Ohhh, the power of the tongue and how hard it is to control it. :)
haha...love it! And is it ever true to boot! Enjoy your week-end Lea!
bless her heart! she's a saint, to be sure.
indeed..he does try hard, doesn't he?
Love this and you for sharing it with us.
Hope your having a wonderful weekend.
Love
Maggie
I not only had an Aunty Minnie (Mina), my grandmother was a Minnie. Both wonderful practical women but not quite as sweet as the Minnie in your story.
Hello, my friend, Lea,
Thank you once again for making my day with your story of the little old lady who spoke only kindness of others. That is a quite difficult thing to do, isn't it? AS always, I enjoyed your "letter to Emily". She is a very fortunate young lady. Best wishes to you. Ruby
Amen...what a lesson for all of us
Loved this. It's a lesson I can learn too.
What a wonderful way to live, I need to be more like her. I always seem to fall short (laughing as I am 5'11 and 3/4 inches tall...)
Have a great weekend. The first hints of spring are coming this way today and tomorrow. I plan on spending my time outside while soaking up the warm winds. I'll be wearing my snow boots of course, as we still have snow, but it won't be long now!

Sweet little Minnie!
And I agree--he sure DOES try hard.
