dear emily,
i have the 'empties' today. you know that feeling . . . well it's more a lack
of feeling that makes the simplest of chores seem daunting? don't want
breakfast, don't want to take a walk or unpack my suitcase, don't want to
read me bible or even a book (i left the 'me', because it turned up the corners
of my mouth.)
this is what children feel like when we make them eat their vegetables but
they only want oreos. when we grow up, we have to make ourselves do
things, too. we need light but crave darkness and stillness and oreos. the
smallest breeze could upset my apple cart. if there were only some clouds,
i might go outside.
"but whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen
plainly that what He has done has been done through God." john 3:21
i don't really get the last part, but the first part is my vegetable for today.
love,
lea

We all need a boost from time to time to combat the "empties". Winter seems to bring that feeling on a lot.
PS: I now live in in Littleton, CO
Yep... the blah's! I recognize the symptoms. Even in this little post, your answer is, of course, so clear... back you go, into the light! :)
Are the empties a symptom of late winter? I think a lot of us have them. Hope yours don't last long.
Your post touched my heart today dear Lea.
Prayers for you and yours.
Ugh, I think I have the empties today too.
Thank you for the child-rearing encouragement yesterday. It was well timed, as I was having a particularly difficult day. :)
Just lovely. It is easy to feel that way, in fact I notice it a lot more right now.
I always enjoy your wisdom.
Oh do I ever recognize this syndrome. I have it frequently...but your right of course, the only way out is through Him. We can't do much of anything at all without Him huh? HUGS
oh I am there...but mine is from all the happenings leaving me exhausted...but put one foot in front of the other and do what I know I should...I hope you have a wonderful weekend...Hugs!
Same thing over at my house! I am blaming it on those winter blah's. Luckily spring is on the horizon.
Kate
Chin up, Lea. We've all been there...this week.:)
I read this the other day and didn't have time to comment. I thought of it again on Monday when I had exactly the same feeling ... just didn't want to change gear from the weekend activities. I guess by now you have adjusted again.
You just described me! lol
It has so got to be this time of year, because all I can say...ME TOO!!!
Just stopping by to say enjoy your week!
Kate
so glad you saw my bride I wish you knew how many times we used yours son's comment to your daughter when she tried off on her wedding dress...we kept saying it over and over again when we would get her dress....have a great week...love you
oh dear. I've had the empties for the past few weeks, probably, because I am empty and the so great need cannot be filled.
