dear emily,
i was studying the scriptures to encourage a young woman who asked me to
be her titus 2:4 older woman. when i was young, there were only one or two
older women available for that, and i desperately needed the mentoring.
while flipping the pages of my bible back and forth, the Spirit of God
descended, and i was undone. that hasn't happened in a while . . . and that
shows the state of my crusty heart . . . which demonstrates His mercy.
again.
how long has it been since you felt the Lord's presence wash over you? it's
better than the sweetest honey on the comb or the finest wine.

What you can say in a few words takes most people paragraphs. I listened to Keith Green, and the words of his song and your heart have me 'undone'. You are so right, there is nothing sweeter than when God pays one of His very special visits to our hearts!
Thanks Lea.
It's been a long time since I listened to Keith Green sing that song. I have been called lots of names for my too easy tendency to weep. My goal is to toughen up, though never to the things of God.
You have reminded me in so few words and yet with such personal depth that it has been too long since I've been "undone" by the Holy Spirit. God forgive me!
Even dry is good because it makes us thirsty. May we always drink Him in.
What a sweet moment listening to Keith Green. His music, and your exhortation, was just what I needed. Have a blessed weekend Lea. xo
How sweet. You're right being washed clean, washed over and through and through...well there is NO other feeling like it.
God is amazing how HE can do that and I think it's wonderful that HE made us to crave being next to Him.

Oh Lea, you challenge me today.
Can't tell you how much this blessed me this morning...
Well, I used to pray for that older woman too. It was a good thing I found Elisabeth Elliot. There were none when I needed one so desperately. It is good you are doing that. It seems lately I have had that experience so much. I have spent lots of time on my face and on my knees, weeping.
It encourages me to know I am not alone.
Lea, does it amaze you that...all of a sudden...you're old enough to be a Titus woman? Some days I find myself shaking my head in disbelief.
No bandwidth so can't listen but am sure it's wonderful.
What a powerful thought. I get so caught up in daily living that God becomes an afterthought .... you know, that prayer that we mummer before meals and as we are drifting off to sleep. What a challenge you have set before me as I begin my week.
God usually wakes me up every night to His glorious presence. That undoes me because He comes without any begging or pleading on my part. He is a welcomed guest and He knows it.
I love Keith Green. Read his book several times...
today while reading John Piper on the Exuberant Omnipotence of God....that young woman is blessed to have you for a mentor
As always, I feel wonderful after reading your post!
The Lord truly washes us and refreshes us! Thank you for your post!
Blessings & Aloha!
And thank you dear friend for stopping by! I hope you do come back and see some of the coin purses I sewed up. And also my "x-citing" news on my post this week! :o)
Oh Emily......I needed this post today....thank you.

That young lady is so blessed to have you as her mentor! I often seek advice and use ladies from my church as examples. Maybe I should tell them I am secretly using them as my own personal mentors someday!
Hope your November is off to a sunny start!

PS- that is my favorite verse from Ezekiel. We named our youngest Ezekiel, only to find out a day later about his own heart issues. That verse was so encouraging for us to know that God was in control at all times.
What a heart and soul rendering post...nothing like that feeling...nothing in all the world!
Both the song and the post are beautiful in their simplicity. It made me think of God breathing life into dry bones...and yes, it's the most wonderful feeling in the world.
