going to the chapel . . .

dear emily,

my eldest son is getting married a week from saturday, and we are over-
joyed.   over as in "over the moon."  i chose his bride to be, and who gets
to do that anymore?   me.

she is like sunshine.   not the hot, blaring kind.   the warm and dappled
sunny kind.   he is like the rock of gibralter.   steady, dependable, and
kind.

they will be a powerful force "in the shadow of the Lord."  (psalm 91)

love,
lea

Our kids seddings were so much fun. I loved all of it. I got more relaxed with each one! So enjoy this special time and all that is ahead.

During our wedding rehearsal, when the pastor came to the "if anyone has just cause why these two should not be joined together..." my future mother-in-law stood up. Even though it was the rehearsal, it was not her finest moment, yet 33 years later I am still here.

Mark 10:7-9 (NASB)
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother, and the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”

Blessings to both families!

Wow.

A matchmaker Mom? I'm seriously impressed.

I tried that. Once. Let me just say I will NOT be sharing engagement or other couple photos with you at this time.

Your daughter-in-law looks lovely. It's so neat to be a part of their happily ever after!

How wonderful! Like Celia, I have a daughter-in-love because she was chosen by God for our son and I could not love her more if she had come from me. There is something so special about this relationship and I've decided it's because I love my son so much and she is an extension of and yet a vital part of who he is. Just wait until you have grands. Another new dimension of LOVE!
