in the bag

dear emily,

i love to read what famous women carry in their purses, partly
for ideas to make my life more fabulous :)  but mostly out of
curiosity.

katy perry's bag contains 'diva' nails, sunglasses, la mer face
cream (my favorite), and her own perfume, "katy perry."

jennifer aniston includes bobbi brown cheek tint, chanel lip
gloss, loreal nutrileum serum, and her own perfume, "jennifer
aniston."

hillary clinton carries chili flakes, a medical kit, and mineral
water mist.  what?  no "hillary clinton" perfume?

my favorite is helen mirren's . . . reading glasses and I.D.  you
gotta' love her.

isn't it revealing, really, what we carry in our bags?  mine
always contains socks for my frigid feet, lip gloss for my dry
lips, moisturizer for my dehydrated wrinkles, and a teeny bible
for my cold, hard heart.   my father in law gave me 50 of these
25 years ago.

so, what's in your wallet?

love,
lea

... Chili flakes? Why?? Just in case she goes out for pizza and they don't have any? LOL!

I have my wallet, a lip stick, a Chapstick, a small perfume, gum and of course a small knitting project! :)

Hmmm... a notebook and pen; wallet; tissue paper; miniature mantra booklet for a 'sense of security' to my soul; pocket mirror which I never use; and band aids in case of foot blister. ;)

Waaay too much for sure...let's see, wallet, checkbook, lipstick, keys, paint chip sample (from Loes's trip), grocery store receipt, and CVS extra bucks receipt, ink pen, Blistex, camera, Werther's candy, sunglasses, pacifier (Grandson's), and odd pieces of paper...Now, what does that say about me???

In my handbag I have my car keys,
wallet, a couple of tissues, a
small hairbrush, lip gloss, coupons,
and a list for wherever I'm going
so I don't forget what I was out
shopping for in the first place.
Oh yes, and my cell phone.
Chili flakes? That's pretty odd.

this is so cute Lea... you do have such a special way of making us smile.

Mine would also have the socks, lip gloss, and lip liner, but no face cream although it's what I really should NEVER leave home without! The 50 little Bibles is too cute... you must have plenty left!

I love the verse, and I'm pretty sure my heart is not reflected by my purse, I sure hope not!

I LOVE THIS POST! Well, let's see....I carry my I.D. and keys, face cream and the bottom of my bag is riddled with gum wrappers!! AHHH! I wonder what that says about me!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS TODAY and your visit dearest Lea!

BLESSINGS TO YOU! Anita

First I have to say that when I started reading I was hearing the Eagles's song "You were just too busy being fabulous!" Sorry what can I say, I have been playing their new CD over and over again..okay I should get out my Barbara "Second Hand Rose" album.

My purse is almost empty...wallet, keys and sunglasses...not very interesting...just the necessary things I have to carry...and they get lost in that big bright purse my hubby bought...maybe I need to add some fabulous items!!

Love you lady...too fun!! Oh love, love Helen Mirren, she makes aging worth it

Happy Saturday Lea! What a fun post. Like you, I always have lip balm; also, liquid tears eye drops, wallet, kleenex and nail clippers. Wish I could wear perfume, but can't due to allergies!

This is so great it made me laugh. I had to think, I had neater stuff in my purse when the kids were little.
But now it is rather boring, a pen, a pad of paper, lipstick, my wallet with my check book, a bottle of migraine medicine, my car keys and my library card. Oh I almost forgot,
Pirate Gold that my son gave me, I never go anywhere without my pirate gold. :)

Hi Lea~Hodge-podge, that is what is in my bag. Some of my faves in the bag are my tiny address book and a sheet of forever stamps (with pictures of the Liberty Bell on them), Starbuck's Sugar Free Classic Mints, Peppermint flavor, Hand sanitizer (small, small bottle), under the eye concealer . . . this is so necessary but too often I forget that I have it in among the hp and I go around looking like a raccoon. My favorite coral lipstick . . . I read in a magazine somewhere that it was the color to wear if you are at the grace age of the midrange. My purse is big enough to stick my Bible in, or a great novel, or an extra pair of shoes and a sweater. There is hardly ever any money. It was all spent on the hp . . . hodge-podge.

:)

Such fun and mine certainly is not a glamour bag .. no perfume or lip gloss. It does have reading glasses (because I am that certain age), an iPhone which doubles as a Bible and novel (what a wonderful thing it is, it can even make the text bigger if I happen to leave the glasses behind), wallet with train ticket, keys and most importantly at least one USB key containing all the data for whatever project I am currently working on -- the computer is of course in the other bag which is also invariably travelling with me too.

Hand sanitizer, lip gloss, fragrance, ID, my wallet, checks, a measuring tape, tissues, a notebook, pen, glasses...too much!

I'm intrigued by the gift your fil gave you.

This is kind of scary....my purse is always a mess for some reason. I do have my wallet, keys, cell phone, lip stick, pen, checkbook, sun glsses, reading glasses, gum, my Jenny Craig salad dressing packages, (you never know when I might be out and NEED food, haha) a small pack of tissues, and most of the time my Bible (better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it is my moto here)...AND...lots of receipts for some reason, When it gets bad I finally take the receipts out and organize them (or throw them away) and it begins again. These were funny, but what on earth is the Chili flakes? haha I thought I was bad...Have a wonderful Sunday! Debbie

Love what yours contains! Mine also includes a camera wedged in there - because there are just too many crazy moments that I don't want to forget :)

Not enough money.

(Sorry for being snarky...just couldn't resisit!)

My bag is filled with a tiny makeup pouch that has a gloss lipstick and a compact of powder for my ever-shiny nose. I use to hate my oily, oily, OILY skin but now that I'm 52 I love it. Imagine that?

I carry photos of my children (then and now), my hubby, my g-daughter, Miss K, and my daddy.

A comb. Sunglasses. Cell phone and my favorite scripture found in Isaiah.

Love to you~

Rebecca

What a FUN post!

I carry: a Dave Ramsey envelope system thingy, my wallet, tissues, mints, a pen, hand sanitizer, my phone, a folding brush w/a mirror, Burt's Bees chapstick, hand lotion, and a shammy thing to clean my glasses.

Wow, it's like Walmart in my purse.

Mine contains a small cosmetic bag with lipstick, a comb and a mini toothbrush and toothpaste. I also have my wallet and an envelope with coupons in case I stop at the grocery store. Of course, my keys are also contained in my bag too.

Hand cream, definitely. My wallet and old, scrunched up receipts (don't ask why, I don't know).

I used to have a lot more than these, but with my shoulder the way it is, I've cut down a bit.

Thanks for the wonderful comment you left on my writing blog.

Interesting and fun! My purse is usually a tote bag crammed full to the top with anything that I might need for the day - extra clothes, books, the mail, wallet, keys, Chapstick, Kleenex, food, and anything else that I think I might at the office.

Great question ...it is revealing our greatest perceived "needs." I love the "teeny Bible for my cold, cold heart." (And who knows when someone elses cold heart may need some of it's warmth as well.)

Our purses certainly have a lot to say about us, don't they?!! I love the preponderance of pink in yours :)

I have a lot of things in my purse, but I tend towards order. When it gets cluttered or messy I can't wait to clean it.

Blessings,
Kathleen

...hm...wow...I have way too much stuff...in fact, if my hubby happens to need something from my purse, I immediately "find" it for him...cuz as much as I intend to keep everything in their place, somehow, everything ends up in a jumble! (Do you remember the game show called "Let's Make a Deal?" I think I would do great at the end of the show where the host calls out for an item and then the one to have that item gets a prize!

But I do go through my purse each week to try to reorganize :o)

Blessings & Aloha!
...today I had an unexpected day off from work, so was able to catch up on some blog reading! Hope you are doing well, my friend!

Blistex, camera, phone, way too big wallet, pens, meds, tide pen, sunglasses. That's about it...

It's so heavy. I've tried to downgrade several times but always come back around to a heavy load.

Oh dear, I don't make a very good girl. I don't even carry a purse. Just my keys in my hand. If I have it, some money scrunched up in my pocket. Not very exciting, but it does make it easier when I have to save the world, don't have to figure out where to put my purse!!!
