thank you! and 'friday pretties!'

it seems i always have something for which to be grateful here.
your prayers and encouragement have lifted me above the tide
that would have swept over me at my daughter's departure.   if
you knew how precious she is, you would understand our terrible
loss and brazil's great gain.   the Light seems to find her.

many of you left the kindest comments and prayers after my last
entreaty, but i received the most input about gwendolyn's eloquent
one.  if you have time to visit her, you will be comforted and inspired.

friday is the day we look forward to joyce's 'pretties.'  it astounds me to
see the beauty of God's creation presented for us to enjoy at all the lovely
blogs who participate.

my 'pretty' is from our beloved colorado.  the same God who formed
this majestic mountain,

set the seed for a delicate white blossom.

"for the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.
in His hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to Him."
psalm 95:3,4

love,
lea

That is the beauty of being a Christian, we can carry each others burdens, we can lift each other up to the throne of God and He ministers so sweetly to the one we have lifted up. That is why it is a privileged to pray for one another.
I am so happy you feel better now.
I will continue to pray for your sweet girl and for you.
Blessings, Lovely Lea :)

What a great picture. The Light did find her, and I know He is shining though her now, as well.

Love,
Margaret

Gwendolyn's prayer...worthy of saving in a very special way. It sounds as if it could be one of Hailey's life prayers. I'm so very glad that you were comforted. This being "left behind" can be disconcerting...

I had to go back and read about your daughter's departure on another post. As you may know, I've been offline for almost a week as I was attending my niece's wedding. What a blessing to be able to life one another up in prayer and care for each other. May we each help comfort and pray for one another always.

hugs and love,
Debbie

Hi Lea,
Thanks for stopping by to visit me and leaving such a cute comment. Yes, it was traumatic to realize they viewed me as "matronly" and I did assume there would be trousers too! lol
I will be visiting you again - I can always use a little "uplifting" and your blog appears to deliver. I'm sure your daughter will enjoy a safe and adventure-filled journey.

What a precious family! Hailey DOES shine! Isn't it a joy to your heart to know that so many prayers are surrounding her during this time. It comforts ME, as it would for my own child, so I am SURE that it blesses your 'mother heart'... know that they will continue.

Hugs!

It has been my honor to pray for your daughter and your adjustment...even when we know it is what God has for one of our children, well we are still human and feel that missing space.
May every word that comes back to you from her just bring complete joy as she walks in her calling.
You have a beautiful family.

The mountains are beautiful!!!

Oh, you will have to post those pictures of your youth that look like mine...and thanks for the precious comment of who I look like...you are toooooo kind.

Have a great weekend!!!

Oh Lea,
What a gorgeous family you have. I missed the post about your daughter's farewell. It's so hard to say goodbye. It will be fun to learn of her experience there. Wishing you a lovely evening.

Wonderful verse! I was blessed by your gracious words and the visits from so many of your friends today. I can relate to the "missionary departure" theme so well having been in a foreign country for over 15 years and having led short term teams overseas. Then, our daughter, whose name means "joy" spent 5 years planting a church in Europe - so hard to let her go..but believers are there now...because she and her coworkers were there. Our son and his family of 6 are also missionaries abroad. So my heart is very tender to every "sweet parting" and I weep with each one, knowing that they shall "doubtless come again, bringing their sheaves with them."

Lea, I am sure that this must be hard for you but you must also feel so happy that you have raised such a beautiful person.

Blessings and best wishes to you and your lovely family.

What a sweet post , a daughter is a treasure and it is so hard for them to be so far away. She is in God's hands, but a mom wants to be able to TOUCH her with her own hands.

Colorado is majestic and beautiful.

...3 years ago our oldest left for Europe for 3 months Bible school...now our youngest has gone to Australia & NZ for 3 months...I cAN not explain the feeling I have ...a lump in my throat...dizzyness ...tears that seem always there ..but the happyness I feel for her big adventure and the growth she will experience...How her journey far away will bring her closer to us and most importantly to the Lord...her leaning on Him is the continuation of her desire to follow him...We are so thankfull for these girls and their Love for God.....So I would like to honour you as you pray for your daughter & her time of serving.....PRETTIE amazing!
