good things come in small packages

when you think of the good things that come in small packages,
what do you think of first?

diamond earrings?

keys to a porsche?

a baby in the manger?

a mustard seed?

"I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, 'move from here to there' and it
will move.  nothing will be impossible for you."  matthew 17:20

here's what the mustard seed becomes:

i thought of the diamond earrings, too.  :)

love,
lea

Another lovely post and while the ear rings made me catch my breath, the faith of the mustard seed is much more precious, as is the baby in the manger.
Thanks for a sweet post,
Still laughing about your perfect day.:)

I have diamonds, though not
that size, and I almost married
a man who drove a porsche, so
I traveled in one for years.
Both are very nice small packages, to say the least. But I would
choose Jesus and the faith He
gives by His Spirit over
any THING else in this life. :)
I do enjoy nice things though
and believe the Lord wants
good things for His
children.

Yes, isn't that awesome??? We serve an awesome God who can take our little and bring about Huge!!! abundance when yielded to Him!

My Dad had a Porsche and we all enjoyed it...the diamond earrings set it a box, they are pierced and I can't wear pierced anymore...so those things are just temporary good things.
Thanks for the post.

I agree with Janette, everything else is temporary!

Hmmm... Temporary? Eternal? As beautiful and nice as the temporary might be - I think I will stick to the sweet manger baby and the faith of a mustard seed.

Creative post. Thanks.

Wonderful post ... interesting to see how much of the "things" lose their luster after time.. but all the wonderful gifts from God - such as nature go on forever an always bring a smile. Hugs..HHL

What a fun post. I've never had diamonds or porsche and don't miss them but faith is a very precious thing.

Since I can't press to email you back on your comment from my blog...since it says "no comment reply" I had to come back and say...just think what my daughter will go through with five brothers???....they give her such a hard time...I can just hear them say "false advertising" poor girls!! Or it will be "you look like girl!!!"

Having never owned diamond earrings and wearing no diamond on my finger perhaps helps me know where to place my mustard seed faith. Course, sometimes the faith is so much tinier than a mustard seed that I must take it by faith that He has given to everyone "a measure of faith." Thanks for that visual of what a mustard seed becomes...I had no idea!

Very wise words Lea... yes, the VERY best things come in small packages! I keep telling my grandkids that, but they still love those big boxes! My prayer for them and for me is to treasure those very best of all gifts... the small packages that change everything...

loved this :)

Oh Lea, What a beautiful post. Better than diamonds and things of the world, our Lord shows us the treasures that are in heaven and in us today with our faith.
