photo hike

last week, i took a photo hike, to record my lovely colorado
summer and to give myself an excuse to take frequent rests.
i walked out my back door to the base of the trail.

a few steps uphill, and i was in the foothills.

hearing the seductive babble of a brook, jackson and i forged through
the trees to stop and play a while.

not a great photo, but i think his little pink tongue is too cute.

onward and upward we ventured, until we came to a "fork"in the road.
at first, i wanted to take the smallest trail, but then i spied the intriguing
curve of the road to the left.  i was also weary of the mountains bikers.

and, of course, along came some bikers.  :)

mount crested butte,

glorious clouds.

with great reluctance, i returned to my back door.

"for the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,"

love,
lea

Is there anything in the world more seductive than a babbling brook? Indeed not.

I don't know what type of trees those are - birch maybe? I don't know - I'm no Tree Expert Person. Whatever they may be, they are beckoning me.

My mother-in-law has been to Crested Butte, so it was cool to see your picture of it... even though I'VE never seen it. :) Am I weird or am I weird?

Your photos are wonderful...you really captured some delightful moments. My favorite of all is the rocky path between the trees leading home. And, yes, that little pink tongue is so cute!

The aspens remind me of the birch trees in New England. Beautiful. My favorite think about Colorado (besides the skiing) is drinking the mountain water. Yum!

I enjoyed the hike. You have a lot of beauty in your back yard. I often think of that hymn when I am outside enjoying the beauty around me. Thanks for sharing some of yours. Carla

Hi Lea! Your walk looks so lovely! Nothing like a big mountain and all of that lush green to make you realize how big God really is!

Funny story, the other night I was showing my husband your blog so he could listen to Sunday's songs. He saw your name and said something about your last name and a company. I said your husband was Hans and he said, "Hey! He was Uncle Clint's boss!" My husband's aunt and uncle are Clint and Becky Whisenhunt! (do you know them?) Anyway, if you do, it's crazy that we found each other in blogland!

Have a great day!

Saw Sunday Lane's video a few days ago...it's awesome!

Gorgeous pictures. And yes, you do have to be leary of those dreaded bikers. That biker in your picture looks pretty intimidating!

What a gorgeous landscape! Looks so cool and lovely - certainly not the weather we're having here. My hubby is in Colorado on business. I'm sure he'd much rather be hiking the trails in your photos. :)

Great pictures, Lea! Loved Sunday's music video. She has an amazing voice! I am thinking that she should meet my son Luke. They would have a ton in common! I can hear him singing, "matchmaker, matchmaker make me a match" ... NOT! :0

Such a beautiful area and so glad you're enjoying it to the fullest. Like you, I could do without the bikers, of either sort -smile-.
I've re-loaded the link; hopefully, it's working now.
