the perfect day!

my perfect day would begin at 7:30 a.m. when  my eyes would pop
open a few minutes before hans' alarm beeps.  i would hop out of
bed to his surprise saying,

"oh my gosh, i slept nine straight hours and had the sweetest dreams
about my grandma goldie!"

sipping my perfectly brewed vanilla bean latte, i would flip open my
laptop and then close it again and flip open my bible instead to the
psalms.  i would be reminded and then grateful for the Lord's love for
me and, lo and behold, an incredible post would float into my head.

hans kisses me goodbye, and now i begin typing.  oh, the heart stirring
eloquence and funny anecdotes that would drip from my fingers!

time to meet one of my dear friends at the gym to run for 30 minutes,
complete four intervals of 20 reps on every machine, and a cartwheel.
from here i would surrender to my masseuse for an hour followed by
some time with my manicurist and hair stylist.  when i try to pay them,
the owner would say,

"you have been such a long and faithful patron, we want to  'comp'
this today."  sigh

i glide into whole foods with one of my 1,000 memorized recipes in mind
and am able to fit all that i need into two extremely light bags.  when back
home, i am pleasantly surprised to see that it is beautifully decorated by
ralph lauren.  the groceries magically wash, dice, and throw  themselves
into a pot of savory broth to simmer all afternoon.

after exchanging two or three delightful phone calls and emails, i will hit
the shower and put on a favorite lily pulitzer, which is a tiny bit snug in
the  bust and loose through the hips.

hans would then walk back in the door and say,

"why don't we watch all the pbs 'pride and predjudice' episodes back
to back?"

one can dream. :)   what's your perfect day?

love,
lea

You're hysterical! Thanks for
the good laugh. My perfect day
would go like this:
.Up at 6:00 after 8 hours of
deep sleep
.A wonderful long shower
.A fabulous breakfast cooked by
someone other than me
.Shaun waking up without autism
.Seth waking up with a new
brother
.Hubby Kim and I having time all
to ourselves
.Feeling the presence of God
so strongly that we're on our
faces rolling with laughter and
delight and all our cares just
drift away into oblivion
Now that would be a perfect day
and life. Thank God for His love
and mercy that makes it all
bearable anyway.

This is great!!!!!!!!!! I am not sure what my perfect day would be...but I would add some of the same things...thanks for a wonderful smile, it added to my day!!

Oh all those photos on my post...that was me who kept them...I took them. I called my mom the other day asking why we never had any of me that they took! We had a drill team photographer who came to the games and I bought from him...he would later do our wedding and his wife our flowers.
The Mommy Piggy Tales has been fun.

HAVE A PERFECT DAY!!!! Really just breathing makes it a perfect day doesn't it?

You made me laugh out loud, it was all great but the watching all of the Pride and Prejudice back to back was hilarious. You know I don't think I have ever thought about it. I mean when I would go to the doctor when I was pregnant the doctor would look at me and tell me to stop thinking so much, and this is never something that ever entered my mind.
Maybe someday, I will write one. Wow,
but just off the top of my head, my perfect day, is when you visit and leave your comments. :) or when you write posts that just make me laugh.

truly... I am sitting here laughing out loud, no one else is in the house!! :)

The shop owners telling you how faithful you've been, so forget paying!! and the back to back episodes on tv... HA! Those would be included in my list too, which is why I laughed out loud... NOT going to happen, either one of them!!

I love your imagination on this one!! :)

Your words just jumped off the pagewhen I read them. I started to picture you as you went through each moment.. truly beautiful inspiring writing!!
And what a thought provoking ending.. What is a perfect day to me? Often I'm sure like most I will if only ABC, or XYZ happened it would be a great day.. these are just knee jerk reaction words to the moment.. Because in my heart I have had the perfect day ...without hopefully sounding too crazy .. I think it was when I took that final breath ...during my accident and found myself "Home" again. Since I have yet to complete my purpose or perhaps decided to take on an additinoal purpose I able to stay -So with one "new" breath I'm here again ~ that day/moment lives strong in my heart and minds eye ~ as perfect. Hugs and blessings HHL

I enjoyed your "perfect day" description. Somehow, for me, each day seems perfect, because I am close to my family, and can spend each day as I choose. Of course, I miss my sweetie pie, but I know he is at peace with our Lord, so that means that I don't have to worry about him. Thank you so very much for your support over the past several months. I appreciate it more than you can know. Love, Ruby

Now let me think ... my perfect day would include a bushwalk along a mountain track that I did without the slightest complaint or twinge at the climb. The camera would feel as light as an iPhone and take photos that look like it really was. Your day sounded altogether too busy for me.

Sounds like the perfect day...especially your husband wanting to watch all of P&P! (That made me laugh!) Too cute Lea! Thank you for the smiles. :)

I loved this post. My perfect day would be seeing my husband off to work with NO pain, a visit with my mom on the phone, walking with a friend, a day of quite and rest with a paint bush in my hand and my creative juices flowing, thanking God for His goodness and love, alittle work in the yard on a crisp, cool day, then end it with all my children home around the dinner table. I didn't realize I had the perfect days for years now I appreciate them more. Now my perfect day is anticipating the birth of my first grandson and reflecting on God's faithfulness. A ps. you are an amazing writer. Peggy-isms fun. What a beautiful mother-in-law.

How funny! What a beautiful way to end my morning, reading your dreams. I want to dream the same dreams you are dreaming ....

And I want to dream of my loved ones who are no longer here ... and I want to dream of walking in a garden with Jesus, talking face to face ....

Thank you for causing me to ponder ...
