office or homeless shelter?

dear emily,

having just been in your immaculate, beautifully designed home that
serves as the backdrop for four vibrant, imaginative, young children,
i was ashamed to come home to my disarrayed dwelling.   i have no
little ones running around leaving shoes, socks, crayons, or tea party
accessories, and therefore have NO excuse for my mess.

i'm afraid that I am the mess.

here is the proof.  do not be fooled by the facade.  those sweet cows
are covering a multitude of sins.  don't you just love their precious
faces . . .

now that i have fortified my resolve with a hearty helping of straw-
berry shortcake, i am going to dive into that homeless shelter and
throw away, give away, or file away my mess.

i LOVE when my blogger friends reveal their before and after pics,
so here are mine.  please don't judge me . . . pray for me!  in a day
or two, i will reveal THE NEW ORDER!

love,
lea

"she watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat
the bread of idleness."  proverbs 31:27

Please don't think my home and/or my studio are always pristine and in order. If I showed you what it looked like today you would faint.

I'm just not that brave...

Love to you~

I love, cleanliness is next to Godliness....but my mother always said that dull women have immaculate houses. Enjoy the process darling, I am sure there will be some pauses along the way when you journey down memory lane.

I am the mess at my home, too! How does that happen, anyway! But,there are times when I have more than one room that looks like that! My solution is to go on vacation! ;~} No! I don't leave the place looking like that ~ I have to get it all cleaned up for the housesitter (my eldest, very tidy, daughter)! Alas! We only take a vacation once a year! :~O
Guess I need to convince hubby we need to vacation more!

Blessings!

Oh I love those cows. As for the homeless shelter ... the after will be very interesting, I seem to show you the messes in my garden and never the after ... oh now I remember why not ... there is no after just extra bits added to the before.

Nothing like a clean sweep to get you feeling that all is right in the world again. You got your work cut out for ya, girl. Can't wait to see the fruit of your efforts!

Have fun!

There is nothing like airing it in blogland to motivate you to get busy. Somehow I feel that you will give this a hundred percent just like you do other areas of your life.

Can't wait to see the after.

Nothing like having already posted the BEFORE pictures to motivate you for the AFTER ones! I'm pretty organized, but I do have one closet.... you almost have to lean on the door to shut it sometimes! Maybe this will get me going!

I have no doubt it will be wonderful with everything in its place. It just that great minds sometimes make great messes, you have been working hard right? I could have taken the same pictures yesterday, I knew it was time to clean so at least for today, it is clean.
I can't wait to see your finished product and yes, love love the pictures of your cows. I always have loved Herefords best.

You should see my girls' room! This is nothing, trust me! I strive for perfection, but it is not going to happen here. I have made "shelves" out of cardboard boxes in the laundry room to hold homeless dishes:-( We are having a "free market" at church tomorrow. so today is the day for going through children's clothes, etc. Yeah! Oh, and my "vintage caribbean bedroom" is now mostly recording studio with 7 guitars, two keyboards and the recording stuff everywhere!! Sacrificing for my art and my praise!

My house is a house of surprises.(Some might call them messes) You open a door and you'll be surprised at what you find. I keep thinking of my up and coming soon grandson. He'll have a ton of fun exploring our house. In one closet a ton of old toys that belonged to his mother. In another will be grandma's art supplies. In another old paraphinilia from his great grandpa. Others might judge this as a mess but I keep thinking what fun he'll have going through it all. Grandma's house will always be an adventure. Tee hee hee. No judgements here. Did I spell paraphinelia right? I love your blogs. A

I agree Lea. I have always thought it would be almost like a dare. I think it is the context in which it is asked also that makes a difference. We were really desperately just wanting to know that we are on the right path because we have been met with apathy and disinterest. But, as always, God knows what He wants us to do and He knows when we need to hear His voice in a manifest way. Thanks for your insight:-) I always love to hear from you! FYI-my computer armoire is also in the bedroom as well as two sewing machines!! I'm making some cute aprons from the same toile as my runners.

I would love to be able to
help you clean and organize
all your stuff. I am just a
person who loves to organize
things and create clean spaces
where there has been clutter.
Don't feel bad. Everyone has
a messy spot somewhere in
their home. Mine is a hall
closet that stays messy due
to my three messy guys.
Everything gets thrown in
there instead of taken back
to its original place after
use.

Oh yes! I do love before and afters and I love it most of all when gals are very, very brave like you and are so honest! And, of course, now I know that it all turned out beautifully and makes you smile every time you see it. What a wonderful space to work in, too!

Soooo...the cows are covering your sins? You're a hoot, Lea! I'm pert near as fat as a cow right now, How'mi doing?

Lord, my whole house looks like that. Since you did such a great job with your mess, how's about coming over here and taking care of mine?

(Thank you for your sweet comments on my last post. I felt redeemed in God's eyes again, thanks to you...)

Oh I now see...that is what I get for not staying up to date....you did an awesome job...give yourself a pat on the back!!!

Oh, I laughed out loud! Sweet Lea! I'm NESTING, don't you know?! My house is never this neat--it's a miraculous feat of God-given hormones. I was just saying the other day that if I could bottle up this "nesting urge" and sell it, I'd be a very wealthy woman...:) oh, and did you see the art room?! Yikes! love you. em

I was sick a few days last week and I totally missed this post. My guest room (which is really much more of a storeroom) looked like that at the beginning of the summer. Now I wish I had taken before pictures, too! Your "after" is wonderful!
