bruce willis

ok, confession time.  i have a weakness for bruce willis.  i know, it's
embarrassing.  but after he made the film with the autistic boy and the
boy who saw dead people, i just had a soft spot for him.

his silly "die hard" movies seemed to come alive for me after that.   i
mean if a tough guy can be that kind to disturbed little boys and then
beat the 'you know what' out of bad guys, he's my kind of hero.

one Christmas, my son isaac gave me all three "die hards." i ought to
be humiliated by that, but instead i memorized many of the lines.

in "die hard 2" he is having a knock down fight with a bad guy on the
wing of a moving plane (seriously?)   after he receives an especially
mighty punch from bruce, the bad guy says, "i kinda' like you."

willis looks at him for a second and then says, "i got enough friends,"
and then pushes him into the engine turbine.  the moral of the story:
don't let your friends choose you, particularly if they are trying to kill
you.

soooooo inspiring.  :)

love,
lea

I haven't gotten to where you are. I sort of liked the first Die Hard, but after that, they were kinda silly to me. Plus I hate when Hollywood couples get divorced. They seem so shallow. It takes really strong people to stay together in "the business". Plus Bruce went bald... sad... ;o)

The Die Hard movies are awesome and Bruce Willis is HOT!

Bruce is still looking good ~ he has that smile and bad boy look about him... HHL

Love this, Lea--and love that quote! Thanks for the laugh today.

I'm a Matt Damon fan...just LOVE the Bourne movies. There's just something about a sweet-faced guy kicking the enemy's booty that makes me smile.

He does seem to get better with age. He was hilarious when he did a guest spot on Friends years ago. Truly a likable guy!

Oh my gosh, you make me laugh so much, I would not think you as a die hard fan. You are so cute. :)

Thanks for being you! It makes me happy. :)

Cute post! I do like The Sixth Sense, but I haven't learned to like the Die Hard movies...though my husband watches them when they are on tv. There are other Bruce Willis movies I like...someone also mentioned Moonlighting...I did love that show! I'm actually more of a Harrison Ford fan! :)

Loved Moonlighting--after that, it kinda went downhill for me--wish I could recapture all of that--ha!

Thanks for the chuckle! Needed that after all the hassle with the domain thingie.

I might can help you with the font size if you are still having problems. It didn't appear to be too small to me, however.

I loved him in Disney's "The Kid" and on the TV show "Moonlighting". There's a couple of those guys who make my heart flip-flop. Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood (I don't care how old he gets!) and Dean Kane.

so funny! it is really interesting who we fall for in these movies! I still like Sean Connery!! And I never really went for 'bald'... so what's up with that??

Sorry, but I am flummoxed ;) No clue who he is!! Did you vote yet??

I've only seen one of these movies, but I completely get the quote, "Don't let your friends choose you, especially if they are trying to kill you." Works on a national level and works on a personal level. We're not told to be wise without reason. Bet your son loved you for liking those movies so much!

I like it! Don't let friends choose you. As my sister once told me: "Just because they (boys) like you does NOT mean that you have to like them." Good stuff. Bruce? It's good that you can appreciate him. ~Mindy

But what did you say? or is that what you said?

Never cared for Bruce. My
fave guy to watch in movies
was always Harrison Ford.
Can't remember the last
movie I watched though.

I wouldn't have pegged you for a Bruce Willis fan ... but "The Sixth Sense" was amazing. And the first Die Hard is one of the best action movies ever!!!

And did you see he has a new movie coming out -- RED -- with Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman and some others.

Hi Lea
Sorry it's been so long between visits.. everything's been a bit crazy since the move.. and internet is not behaving as it should..

Well I have to admit I did enjoy the die hard films also.. perhaps Bruce just brings that bit of vulnerability to his characters so the tough guy has a soft side.. and as you said.. once you enjoy an actor in a certain character.. it opens your eyes to see them in a different light..

Hope you are well.... have a fab week xxx Julie

emily: that is exactly what i said
in spanish. :)

I love your humour. Have only seen him in "Sixth Sense" and quite liked that movie.

I have never watched a Die Hard movie, although my husband loves them.

Between you and him, I guess I'll give the first one a shot. I can just hear my husband now, "How come a perfect stranger can talk you into something I have been trying to talk you into for years?" LOL

Will let you know :)

I like Bruce too. He's a tough guy with a sweet heart. I like what you said about friends. I've experienced both. Loyal and true and backstabbing. Friends are such a blessing. Ive got some of the best. And the not so good ones I love and forgive anyway. Here's a poem for you:
FRIEND
Friend is a word of a linquist delight:
Friend is a masterpiece its brillance sheds light.
Friend is a word of a Godly tone,
Friend is excellence standing alone.
Friend describes the ultimate bond,
Friend sung is the sweetest song.
Friend in truth is faithful and true.
Friend dear to me, I've found in you.
Love you, A

"I got enough friends" hahaha! I do love the man. Ever since the old days of 'Moonlighting.' Too bad about the hair though. But even so, he's okay in my book too!
