dear emily,
i was a mature and seasoned 21 year old when i married hans.
we had dated all through high school and separate colleges, so
it was time for us. if absence made the heart grow fonder, we
were absolutely sick with fondness.
the truth is, i think we made other people a little sick with our
fondness. :)
hans has been the love of my life and the captain of my ship,
always encouraging, ever faithful, and completely entertaining.
but most importantly, he never says, "no" to me. :)
the view from my kitchen/coffee nook:
as we approach our thirty year anniversary, i have been thinking
about the importance of 'prenups.' i brought very little to the
blessed union besides my heart but still considered it very, VERY
important that he promise me, "i will never, ever take you camping."
we passed this sign on a hike last week, and it made me smile.
seriously? two weeks??
love, lea

Just beautiful!! The views are breathtaking, and of course the words of Paul are timeless. Your views make me think of my aunt's ranch in Montana near Hardin and the wonderful times we spent there. Thanks for the inspiration this morning!!
Oh Lea...you my dear are a scream...your pictures capture the exquisite beauty in each and every snappy you take...you can not say that camping is evil...if done in the correct manner...{fluffy bed, kitchen sink, bathroom in the back, and wheels to propel one to ones destination} it can be MOST pleasant...The 14 day rule, is a very "fine" rule indeed though...thank you for the smile to start my day with...love Rosie
Lea, Lea, Lea!! Yes they hurt...but no, I'm not in agony! Maybe I was being just a smidge dramatic!!
Sounds like a jewel of a husband to make such a vow. I happen to be one of those who could benefit from such a promise--not a camper myself either. Now a luxury cabin with a view like your picture--that's a different story!

Your husband sounds so sweet... I love promises like this. I love your beautiful view, too. How I'd love to wake up to this everyday!

Very Sweet, I just love that, isn't it wonderful that after almost 30 years you can still feel this way, Such a blessing!
You and Dave make a pair. He said the last time he went camping, the Army paid him -grin-.
Me? I love to camp but am in the glamping stage of life now.
Magnificent views! God is an amazing and very creative creator.
Just out of curiosity... did you overstay your 14 day camping limit? :-)
blessings,
ashley
What an amazing view! Isn't it funny how we think we would never enjoy something and it turns out fun?
sandra! how funny: glamping! "glamour
camping"
lea,
ask paul about "glamping"........that's his new thing to look forward to after retirement.....still have a few years to change his mind. (really, i can't see him going anywhere without room service)
Oh my friend how wonderfully blessed you and Hans are to have each other. Here's to many... many... more... years of happiness together.
Your images are breathe taking..HHL
So sweet and encouraging to all of use married ladies. Hans sounds like a wonderful man. On a lighter note, last night in VBS we asked the kids what they would take on a camping trip. My daughter and myself said, "a hotel room!" The funny part was that neither one of us knew what the other was going to say. Like mother, like daughter! Thankfully, my wonderful husband respects my need for comfort! Carla
Had there been a pre-nup.... 'no camping' would have been in mine as well! Fortunately, it would also have been in my hubby's!! :)
bbb: i could see paul 'glamping'.
and i'm very sorry! :)
what a beautiful view..the perfect place to read A Taste Of Home :-)
kary
You have quite the view! Wow!
:-)

Darn ... why didn't I think to put No Camping in a prenup? Oh yeah ... because my husband considers staying in a Motel 6 to be roughing it!
What a wonderful view! You're not really camping are you? You are?
vee: no way!
nope 2 weeks is entirely too long to camp...I would potentially do it for 1 day...maybe
What a cute story! My husband unfortunately got the "no camping" version of me. I did so much camping etc., when I was a kid and young woman that I am just done. Fortunately he's not brokenhearted about it.
~Angela :-)
I don't know...I believe I could camp there for 14 days. That is a beautiful sight! I think my dear hubby and I would love it...:)
Awwwwwwwwww!
I made Stu promise me that camping would consist of spending the night at Marriott Courtyard. True.
Thirty years....you have a few on me...unless I include my first marriage too! :)

I love this post! Happy 30 years together!!!
Gorgeous pictures.
Oh Lea, you don't know what your missing. Two weeks of camping under canvas sounds like bliss to me. Especially in that beautiful countryside. I'd pick camping over a hotel room every time.
Are you on vacation or do you really live there? Wow! What views. Congrats on 30 years. Our 15th is Thursday.
