wisteria lane

wisteria is blooming around our fair city like a glorious floral fashion
show.  each stem is heavy with clusters of lavender grapes, whose
intoxicating scent is turning the heads of busy bees . . .  both species.

hans knows a man who divorced his wife because he couldn't stand
her scent.  i had never thought of such a humiliation!  what did he put
on the divorce papers?  irreconcilable smells?

there is no disguising one's breath after eating raw onions or the awful
aroma in the kitchen after cooking broccoli.  a pumpkin pie baking in
the oven, on the other hand, is heavenly.

my girls smell like cotton candy, but my boys are more like wet puppies.

i suspect my individual scent is influenced by many things, but my hope
is that, "i will be the aroma of Christ."  2 corinthians 2:15

love,
lea

My Grandmother had a wisteria tree in her yard. I have never seen anything like that in Michigan since. Thank you for the memory. Oh how I pray for the sweet aroma of Christ in my life!

My sister and I, who have 5 boys between the two of us, have always said that boys smell like little, wet puppies! I LOVE it.

Great reminder that we are to a sweet fragrance for Him.

This is so true for me - I was adopted by birth and always had a strange smell from my family (many a time I was told my room smelled funny). It wasn't until I had Keelin that I smelled a familiar scent. I KNEW he was mine. I hope I always have a scent that lets my Father know I'm his!

Oh my, will you please send lots of the aroma of wysteria blooming, up my way?!? I'd welcome it, with open arms.

As to the man who divorced his wife, because he couldn't stand
her scent... Mmmmm, didn't she *smell* the same, before the marriage? How come he married her, in the first place, then? -shakes head- Methinks that was just an excuse, for divorce. But then, I'm suspicious that way. -grin-

After reading Vee's post today [concerning not giving our opinions in comments, on other's blogs], I wonder... -giggles- Does my last paragraph constitute "Breaking That New Blogging Rule"???????? Eeeeek! >,-))))

Ohhh Ohhhhh! I just Broke another Blogging Rule! That of going Off Topic, in comments. -double Eeeek- I'm just the little ol' Rule breaker today, am I not?

Heh, heh, heh...

Wisteria... brings back a lot of memories. My 'other' princess story. In high school in Southern California, we had a wisteria vine that covered 7 acres, with lattice roof that it grew over wildly. Youth for Christ had an event there every Easter, and one year I was one of the princesses, complete with chiffon dresses and plastic heels that still make my kids howl with laughter!!

Lovely post but I have to confess that I was left wondering the same thing as Aunt Amelia - did the woman develop a different scent after the marriage? I'm guessing not...

Sweet memories and sweet smells (febreeze goes a long way :-)

Lea, the aroma of Christ is exactly what I was thinking about my Easter guests. It is so attractive to those similarly inclined.
