drugs in rental cars

hans and i were being treated to a sumptuous four course feast at an
extraordinarily beautiful home.  as i took a bite of the delicious veal
saltimbocca, my seating partner recounted a very funny statistic.

he said that once a month rental cars are returned with all sorts of
illicit drugs.  crazy.  what kind of foolish person would be so careless
to forget the contraband?

the story gets better.  apparently, rental car companies are required
to notify the authorities each time.  the police then has the company
call the offender to say that he has left behind valuable property.

do you see where this is going?  i almost choked on the tender breast of
carolina quail.  every single time, the ignorant drug user/leaver returns
to see what he left behind and gets his behind put behind padded doors.

speaking of padding, i enjoyed every delectable bite of my chocolate
souffle.

love,
lea

How strange people can be some times. I wonder what they think they are returning to claim? Carla

That comment that JustBreathe made, made me chuckle. It always amazes me how people can want to be high on drugs, no less sell them.

Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment on my blog. I just watched the video you have on your last post too. So lovely.

That meal sounded scrumptious.

Hello, Lea,
How wonderful to have you visit my blog and to be a follower of mine! I consider it an honor. I think perhaps a drug dealer who leaves his contraband behind speaks volumes of the intelligence of such persons, don't you?
I read your profile in getting to your blogsite, and noticed that Peggy Dow was your mama. How wonderful for you, to have such a lovely lady for your mom.
I read down a ways on your blog. It is awfully interesting, and I will be back. What a wonderful way to "meet" new people.

Oh, yeah, padding is good. It protects a lot against wooden benches and such. Ha. I have pretty good padding myself.
Best regards to you,
Ruby

veal saltimbocca - yummy, one of my all time favorites!
As to the rental cars and drugs...sheesh. A lawyer once told Dave the only reason he stays in business is because criminals are stupid. Guess so, eh?

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend xx Julie

I actually read just the other day of such an account but it was a casino that called a customer to the front to return a purse full of contraband, and the lady was then arrested. You're right, how does one become so careless with the contraband? Could it be the contraband impairs the brain? Hmm.....

On a similar note, I always wonder why people carrying drugs in their cars choose to drive over the speed limit. I'm always hearing about it on the news: Drugs found during routine traffic stop. Makes you wonder. :-)
