blog poser

dear emily,

every now and then i join "blessed is the kingdom" and repost an
old piece as a 'sabbath rest.'  i thought that a new blogger might be
encouraged by all the sweet comments i received after writing this.
the blogging community is extraordinarily generous in their help
to 'newbies.'

ok, i can't take the guilt any longer.  i am a blog poser.  i never even
visited a blog before i started pretending and even made fun of those
kind of people!

wait, that's not quite true, shelby had me read the pioneer woman's
love story, but that was really a western harlequin romance with
awesome recipes and beautiful pictures of super cute kids.

my friend margaret writes a funny, insightful blog about being single
in a crazy, married world.  i thought to myself, "i can do that.  i know
a little bit about raising a circus, i mean family."  next thing i knew, i
was a blog poser.

since then i have had a few entertaining comments, "i can't seem to
get you on my blog roll.  i guess i will just have to put you on my old
fashioned blog roll."  umm, ok.

...or, "i have tried to update you to my sidebar but can't seem to find
you.  do you have your blog set up to do a sitefeed or a feedburner?"
...  sidebar?  sitefeed??  FEEDBURNER???

the only feeding and burning i know is cattle, children, and trash.

love,
lea

to little children."  luke 10:21

-grin- You are a bonafied blogger, Hon! Just look! You have blogs and people read you! What more do you want? ,-)

I know. You're just being cute. But really, who needs to know all the various "bells & whistles" about blogging. We can pick them up, along the way.

And so cool, that you dropped caps! I've done that in private email but never had the..... [starts with "B"] to do it, in Blog Land. Good for you. It's great to see differences!

So thank you much for commenting in one of my blogs. And thus, I got to find your blog. Comments rock! It's how we find lots of new friends.

let's see how it feels to drop caps. -grin- well, it feels too much like the old email i used to do with someone, and i don't do anymore, so it doesn't feel so good for me. -bleahhhhh-

So, I'll leave it to you, to drop Caps! :-)

THANK YOU for not making us do Word Verification here! And yes, I am shouting. I so dislike WV that I want to hug every blogger, who doesn't make me do it!

Too funny!

OK, my best shot at understanding this comment...

do you have your blog set up to do a sitefeed or
a feedburner?"... sidebar? sitefeed? FEEDBURNER?

is this... I think they are talking about your blog not rolling-up to the top of their blogroll whenever you publish a new post. If so, then you need to go to...
Dashboard. Settings. Site Feed, and under the option "Allow Blog Feeds?" select Full.

If you still don't understand, email me and I'll try to help out.

:)

Hi Lea,
By now you are definitely a blogger and I loved this post. It's funny that when I went to leave you this comment and then saw it was your birthday...well, at least it was in January when I realized that you had republished it. I'm a little slow on the up-take sometimes.
I went back and caught up on your posts that I had missed and loved seeing the way you celebrate the fourth. I didn't see where you live, but it looks so much like our mountain town. Parade and all. Wouldn't it be funny if it was???
hugs

Funny thing is I started blogging because I loved the idea of the technology! Then over time I discovered it as much more, a wonderful way to meet lovely friends worldwide.

Hope you have had a lovely day!

I just stumble along with blogging and occasionally pick up some clues by accident! Regardless, it has been a terrific way to meet new friends and see the world!

You came to blogging via PW's romance? Interesting. I see that we were both a bit snobby prior to our own blogging experience. I'm not one bit snobby now. No. Really. I am not a snob. Why would anyone think that? Sigh. Here's to lots more blogging fun in your future. You have so much to share!

Auntie sezzzzzz... said...

Oh my gracious! Couldn't wait to come over here and post OT, I suppose. It's about your comment in my post [about how we blog]. You commented; i always return comments but am
careful to try not to 'stalk' as we
have discussed at vee's.

STALKING! What is blog stalking? Do you mean that if one comments frequently, it is considered Stalking????????

Good grief, if so, lots of poor bloggers must think I'm a stalker. Eeeeeeek! Good grief!

I'm not a Stalker! I simply always have something to comment. I always seem to have something to say back, when I read a blog. And if I read a blog daily, I guess I comment daily.

But yikes! Does this mean that some of you, think it is stalking, to do that?!? -sighhhhhhhh-

I used to make fun of bloggers too. lol! I enjoyed this.

I see I already left a comment here last January. You must have understood it, cause your blog rolls up just fine now. :)
Have yourself a wonderful Sunday,
Zuzu

dear aunt amelia,

please forgive me if i made you think
i was implying that you would ever
stalk. i love all your comments.

i was speaking to MYSELF only, as i
have to hold myself back from
pestering some people.

so sorry!!!

Auntie sezzzzzz... said...

Dear, Dear Lea! I didn't think you were accusing me, of stalking-by-comments!

I wanted to know WHY you would consider yourself, to be a stalker, because of frequent comments? And I still want to know "the why" of this.

Because I feel, we all LOVE Comments.

They are like getting what is sometimes called "strokes." Meaning, the nice feeling humans get, when someone compliments them genuinely.

When people take the time to leave us a blog comment, it is like a sweet little pat-on-the-back-for-a-job-well-done. Someone who comments, took the time to let me/us know, that they stopped by & read our post, and are thanking us for posting it.

And I think alllllllllllll bloggers in Pretty Blog Land and elsewhere, love comments. So I can't understand the concept of some bloggers feeling they are stalked, if someone leaves frequent comments.

I too, remember that discussion, in Vee's blog. And I remember being just as shocked then [at this stalking concept], as I still am now. Thought I conveyed that, then.

But! But! If I conveyed my shock to Vee backchannel [in private email], then no one but the two of us would have been able to read, how we discussed it. No one but the two of us, would have gotten to the bottom of, how Vee read that view, somewhere. And I truly don't remember how Vee and I discussed it, back then. Perhaps she does, as she's younger.

Anyway, I could never think you have a single mean bone in your body! Never! Nor would I think you were accusing me of stalking. But I would love to find out, why you would think that you have to stop yourself, from frequent commenting... Because you'd worry that you could be thought of as being a stalker?

Possibility! Did you mean, being thought of as a stalker, but you meant it in a funny way???? Like a *stalker*? [Those * * mean that we are kidding.] Or perhaps you could have put a -gigggles- or a -grin- after stalker? To show you didn't mean it, literally? Maybe? I so know what you mean, about not making one's self clear all the time, on the Net. And that's why I use a lot of those *dreaded* Smileys. They look kind of weird, but can convey humor, when no other way will do it.

But back to commenting, if we love and read blogs daily, we must appreciate the blogger. And it doesn't seem as if any blogger would be so sensitive, as to mistake that appreciation, for anything, but everyone's fun in/with Pretty Blog Land.

I want to hug you and make you believe that!!!!!!
